IN MEMORY

MARICHI LYNN

The Marichi Turner Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 in memory of Marichi Lynn Turner of Watson, Louisiana. Marichi was born with Cystic Fibrosis in March of 1979. She lived with the disease for 24 years before it took her life on July 15th, 2003.

Marichi lived a very happy life, full of family, friends, and many dreams that came true. Through her journey, she had many people whose support and love made it possible to experience life in the fullest. Her spirit and legacy live on today in the hearts of many. If she were here today, she would want to help those children following in her footsteps and put smiles on their faces as so many did for her.

The Marichi Turner Foundation was created to give gifts and assist children living, at any stage, with Cystic Fibrosis. The foundation's goal is to locate children, ages 3 to 18, and give gifts throughout the year. These gifts do not intefere with other wish granting organizations; they are simply to put smiles the faces of the children that have to suffer with this terrible disease.

Through sponsorships and annual fundraisers, the foundation raises funds to give as many gifts to as many children as possible. In addition, The Marichi Turner Memorial Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship awarded annually at Live Oak High, Marichi’s alma mater.
